Because we at The Writing Assistant know that each course has different requirements when it comes to academic papers and assignments, we thought it would be useful to provide you with a few writing resources to help you as you work through the term.

This site covers all sorts of writing needs, from research techniques to style guides to ESL information.

 

The Writers Workshop at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Provides links for information on things like how to consider your audience while you write, how to properly use commas, how to overcome writers' block, etc.

 

The Writing Center at Harvard University
Information on how to read for retention and analysis, how to write a counter argument, deal with transitions and editing tips.

Anybody can fire up Google and look up the answer to a question on grammar or find a statistic. Academic Institutions, however, usually have strict rules about sources and as far as we know, Google (while often helpful) isn't yet considered a reputable source. Try some of these links instead!
